Honors English 9 Summary reminders

Remember that your primary goals in a summary (exactly like we did with "Woodworker" and "A Few Words") are to:

-Convey the author's main idea and purpose.
-Show all the author's main ideas, not just some.
-Distinguish main ideas in each topic sentence, free of vagueness)

This means that your paper will be as many short paragraphs long in its body as your original article seems to cover: Your job in organizing a summary is to decide "Does my article have 2,3, or 4 main ideas?" (in a piece as short as those you brought, more is unlikely)
Your ability to read accurately and show your comprehension of the author's form is the main thing I'm grading. (THINKING=GOOD)
Of course, proofread for
-style
-effective, well-varied AA's , especially with well-chosen AV's
-fluent use of transitions , free of chop
-avoiding vague language (ENPs, UQs, etc.)
