ap12 "errors of argumentation" notes& reminders

Remember to revise at least 6 of your BNW Q &A's for Thursday; bring with rough drafts!

If you have time, do all 10!

For the final revisions to the "8 Sentence combining techniques":
+use sentences about texts, especially for subordianate and adverb clauses, infinitives, participles, and absolutes. I want to see you use these with Author and Meaning verbs!

-Don't do "Dick-n'-Jane" sentences
-avoid weak verbs in all clauses and phrases: these can always be simplified to remove the weak verb.

Remember to employ all at beginning, middle, and end of sentences, so that of every 5 examples youl'll get 1 or 2 of each pattern. NOTE: remember that adjective clauses can't start sentences, nor can appositives (though they do end sentences) Though noun clauses can start sentences, since they sound snotty, don't bother. ("THAT noun cluses sounded preposterous at the beginnings of sentences was a horror recognized by all." )
