THEN, IN A SHORT, SEPARATE PARAGRAPH:
Answer this question: given that the narrator feels so bitter about her hard life, why would she want to destroy the one beautiful thing in her community? Why, in her confused, jealous way does she destroy the one thing she seems to envy? Use at least three quotes to support your point.
Objectives:
1.Avoid errors of style rules discussed so far: (list these rules on your objectives)
2. Answer the questions clearly without going off-topic
3. Find appropriate quotes that stay on topic to support your answer
4. Follow the four couching rules:
-NO LONG QUOTES! Identify the smallest, most important parts/phrases of your quote
-DON'T STICK THE QUOTE IN WHOLE THE WAY IT IS: Rearrange the quote to say what we want to say (just remember to add the "" later!)
-"The test" of whether the sentence is "good": The sentence should make grammatical and logical sense if you remove the " " marks!
-SHOW and TELL must be connected
